A CELEBRATION OF THE ARTS & THE GREAT OUTDOORS!
In 2015, the Lexington Council for the Arts was approached to create an event for Hidden Treasures weekend by Freedom’s Way National Heritage Area. The event was to be a one-time thing, until artisans were caught musing about what they might want to do the following year, and visitors enthusiasm about the event often included “Oh, I hope you continue this next year!”. So, as Lexington was to find a new hidden treasure for subsequent years, ArtsOffroad was born.
The goal of ArtsOffroad is to treat residents and visitors to the whimsy of finding art in the beautiful setting that Mother Nature has provided. In 2015, organizers celebrated the arts in 4 different conservation areas on the ACROSSLexington trails. To make the event more manageable, this year it will focus on a smaller radius near to the Minuteman Bikeway and to the historic Lexington Battle Green. It will be one of the events on Lexington’s RevolutionaryRevelry calendar.
Save the date: Saturday, May 14, 2016 ~ 10am-4pm
