Name of Event: ArtsOffroad – a festival of arts and nature

Work Media: Any art that can be displayed outdoors, and that fits in a park, or wooded setting. There is opportunity for both visual and performing arts (electricity needs TBD).

Entry Requirements: Art must be family-friendly in theme and content, and be in a position to leave the venue with no trace left behind of any disruption.
Sample Requirements: Artists will need to provide a brief description of their project, listing necessary requirements for space, electricity etc. Images are welcome, but not necessary.
Timeline: Displays will run from 10am – 4pm on Saturday, May 14. Performances will be scheduled within that timeframe. A raindate is set for the following day.
Entries Due: March 1, 2016 – late applications will be considered on a case by case basis.
Selection Process: In a community spirit, the event committee hopes to display all artwork that comes in, and will coordinate placement in the Town park along Hancock St. and Massachusetts Ave., with possible extension along the bikepath and nearby conservation land as needed.
Notification to artist: Artists will be notified within the week of their request.
Accepted Artwork: Artists will be responsible for displaying, removing, and monitoring artwork. Signs will be provided for artists with their name, the title of their work, and a QR code that can be linked to their preferred website for more information.
Delivery: Visual artists need to set up on the morning of May 14, 2016 by 10am.
Reception: A reception celebrating ArtsOffroad artists, and grantees for the Local Cultural Council will happen in the afternoon of May 14.
Exhibit or Event Ends: Artwork will need to be removed by the same evening at 4pm, May 14, 2016
Publicity: The event will be promoted in local and regional publications/media in association with the local arts council and Town tourism committee. It will also be featured in numerous Facebook and Twitter posts.
Sales: The event is intended to be free to the public, with the focus on the art. Any personal promotion can be handled via the QR Code on signage.
