Grant Recipient Events

Each year, the Lexington Council for the Arts sponsors many events in and around Lexington. We are always proud of our grant recipients and just wish we could provide more!  This year’s grant recipient events are just as appealing and colorful as usual and even more diverse…


  • Munroe Saturday Nights (Sept 2017-June 2018) – Lectures on Cultures of the Diaspora (Syria, China, African nations, and Gulf-Coast)
  • The Marble Collection (Jan 2017-May 2017) – Arts education workshops for all Massachusetts students
  • The Discovery Museums (Jan 2017-Dec 2017) – “Especially for Me” program for Special Needs Children
  • RESS Foundation (2017) – Film presentation “In the Eyes of Another”


  • Chinese American Association of Lexington – Dragon prop for Chinese New Year celebrations


  • Feb 4th : Amber Renese Rivera – Mask Making, Parade Decorating and Public Art Workshop
  • Feb 17th : Blue Heron – Missa Caput (Musical works of Johannes Ockeghem (First Parish Church)
  • Feb 26th : Cantata Singers of Lexington performs Bach’s B-Minor Mass (Cary Hall)

  • May 4, 7pm , at Cary Library : Kathleen Rowe – Exploring the Charles River Watershed in Lexington
  • May 7th – SNAP Spring Concert – Special Needs Arts Programs (First Baptist Church)
  • May 20th : The Concord Chorus – Bach’s B-Minor Mass Lecture Series (St. Brigid’s Church)
  • May 21st – East Lexington Community Association – Thoreau Bicentennial Reading ; Lexington Council for the Arts – Grantee Reception (Stone Building)

JUNE 2017

  • June 15th-25th Walden Shakespeare – Twelfth Night Outdoor Summer Shakespeare (NARA park amphitheater)
  • June 24th – Sept 4th: Fitchburg Art Museum – 84th Regional Exhibition of Art & Craft

JULY 2017

  • July 13th, 20th and 27th – Metropolitan Wind Symphony performs on Hastings park


  • Nov 24th : Acton Chinese Language School – Dream of the Red Chamber Concert
  • Lexington Dance Ceili performance (Date TBD)
